LANCASTER — Coughlin Automotive has added a new dealership in Lancaster, acquiring Matt Taylor Kia on North Columbus Street.
Brothers Al and Mike Coughlin, the co-owners of Coughlin Automotive, said in a media release the newly named Coughlin Kia of Lancaster allows the company to expand its service to new customers in Central Ohio.
“The new location lets the Coughlin family of dealerships expand into a new and emerging market and better serve the automotive needs of the community members in Lancaster and Fairfield County,” said Al. “They will see the difference immediately.”
“This new location will allow us to exceed every one of the high standards our customers have come to expect from all of the Coughlin dealerships,” added Mike.
James Clark, managing partner of the former Matt Taylor Kia of Lancaster, will remain on staff as the general manager of Coughlin Kia of Lancaster.
Clark said the name on the building will be the only thing changing at the store, along with the reputation that comes with the Coughlin brand.
“When the Coughlin group approached us to purchase the store, we did our research and found that they are a very reputable group,” Clark said. “Their footprint is basically around the city of Columbus now… I’ve met them both, they’re great guys, and it’s just a phenomenal group.”
Clark said Coughlin Kia of Lancaster will continue its commitment to communities of Lancaster and Fairfield County, continuing their relationships with the Lancaster Festival, Fairfield Medical Center, and Board of Developmental Disabilities, among other organizations.
“The employees at this store have always been a family under my leadership,” Clark said. “Now we have more support from the corporate office, which will allow us grow even better and further. The Coughlin family is very involved in the communities where their dealerships are located.”
According to the media release, the Lancaster location will be the second Kia dealership under the Coughlin name.
Coughlin Kia of Lancaster marks the 13th location for Coughlin Automotive, joining dealerships in Newark, Pataskala, Heath, Marysville, Circleville, and Chillicothe, offering new vehicles across 13 different manufacturers.
