Red Bull Formation, the groundbreaking women’s big mountain freeride mountain bike event is returning to the Utah Desert. This May 8-15, twelve of the top female freeriders from across the world will gather for a session dedicated to development, community, mentorship and progression.
“Red Bull Formation was formed to create a future path for women in freeride mountain biking,” said event co-founder and professional mountain bike athlete Katie Holden. “Last year was a spectacular event. We saw the sport progress in ways we didn’t think was possible in such a short amount of time, and it proves how much talent there is in the women’s field that needs the opportunity to blossom.”

This year’s event format will remain the same, with three dig days where riders will create their ideal line, a rest day for recharging bodies and connection with friends and community, and then three ride days. While not a competition, the event serves to elevate women mountain bikers by providing a platform on which to progress the sport, by creating visibility through increased representation, and fostering collaboration through leadership in sport. If the past two years of the event have been a barometer, then this year will certainly blow minds.
