Ex-Celtic hero Moussa Dembele aims cheeky ‘usual’ dig at Rangers after Old Firm win

FORMER Celtic striker Moussa Dembele is well-known for his wind-ups on Old Firm days.

The Frenchman, who starred for the Hoops under Brendan Rodgers between 2016-18, often takes to social media on derby days when his old team have emerged victorious.

And the Lyon ace wasted little time in doing the same again after watching Celtic win 2-1 at Ibrox to go six points clear at the top of the table.

Goals from Tom Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers sent the Hoops on their way to a momentous win.

Aaron Ramsey had put Rangers ahead early on, with the opening exchanges of the match played at breakneck speed.

But Ange Postecoglou’s men held on to win the second successive Glasgow derby, following on from the 3-0 win at Celtic Park in February.

Dembele, 25, joked that the result was “usual stuff” on a derby day.

The striker tweeted: “Well done Bhoys, Glasgow (is) green and white. Usual stuff on derby day I mean…”

Dembele was fond of an Old Firm goal himself during his time in Glasgow’s East End, including a hat-trick in a 5-1 win in September 2016 and the winner in a League Cup semi-final that same season.

Elsewhere, Carter-Vickers has earned himself a brand new nickname on the back of his colossal display against Rangers at Ibrox.

The popular defender put in a stellar showing in the all-important Old Firm clash and scored what turned out to be the winner, drilling the ball home with aplomb before half-time.

And his Celtic team mates were clearly impressed with the performance too.

Giorgos Giakoumakis, Greg Taylor and Mikey Johnston replied to his post-match Instagram post by dubbing him “the fridge”.

They were joined by former teammates of the American international, with ex-Swansea winger Nathan Dyer using the same term along with some fire emojis.

Celtic academy starlet Karamoko Dembele added that Carter-Vickers has a “clutch gene”.

Fellow Hoops defender Josip Juranovic replied with “My partner!” while Albian Ajeti, somewhat of a forgotten man at Parkhead, also added to the hype by praising his teammate.
