
This means Mahindra Autos has registered a YoY sales growth of more than 35 per cent as the company managed to sell just 40,403 units in March 2021.

Diving into various sectors, most of the market has been very positive in 2022 compared to the previous year. However, the three-wheeler sales have come down compared to last year’s YoY sales performance.

Speaking about the numbers, Mahindra Autos has sold 27,380 units of Utility Vehicles (UVs) in March 2022, whereas the company could manage to sell just 16,643 units in the last year during the same time. This resulted in a YoY sales hike of 65 per cent.

On the other hand, the combined sales number of Cars & Vans stood at 223 units in March 2022. Though this number may seem small, the company managed to sell just 57 units in March 2021. Thus resulting in YoY sales growth of more than 291 per cent.

It is also worth mentioning that Mahindra’s passenger vehicle segment mainly consists of UVs (SUVs and MUVs ) such as Mahindra KUV100, Mahindra XUV300, Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Marazzo, Mahindra XUV700 and Mahindra Alturas G4.

Adding the sales of Utility Vehicles, and Cars, Mahindra Autos sold a total of 27,603 passenger vehicles in March 2022. During the same time last year, Mahindra Autos managed to sell just 16,700 units. This has resulted in a YoY sales growth of 65 per cent.

Coming to the commercial sector, Mahindra sold 3,806 units of LCVs under 2T capacity in March 2022. In comparison, the company sold just 1,641 units in March 2021. This means LCVs under the 2T sector recorded a very strong YoY sales performance which stood high at 132 per cent.

On the other hand, the 2T-3.5T LCV segment sales were improved marginally by 4 per cent as the company managed to sell 15,202 units in March 2022. Also, the CV above the 3.5T segment also grew by just 5 per cent as Mahindra Autos only sold 829 units in March 2022.

As mentioned earlier, three-wheeler sales were down and the number reveal the YoY sales were down by 9 per cent as the company managed to sell just 4,043 units in March 2022.

Finally, the exports saw a 49 per cent YoY improvement as the Indian automotive giant exported 3,160 units in March 2022.
