Yamaha FZ X flaunts a neo-retro styling. Although the bike’s design is inspired by the traditional classic-era street fighters, it offers modern performance and technology to the users. This styling is also said to have been inspired by Yamaha’s popular XSR series.
At the front of the bike is a circular headlamp with bi-functional LED with LED DRLs. It gets a muscular fuel tank with a metal fuel tank cover. It has a single piece tuck and roll seat. The seating position and the handlebars of the bike deliver an upright position to the riders and create extra comfort.
At the rear end, it has an oval-shaped ring LED taillight and an all-black exhaust. It also features a grab-rail for the pillion rider. Since the body parts are mostly plastic, the bike should be lightweight. There is a gap between the rear seat and rear tyre which feels a bit awkward.
Yamaha FZ X features block pattern tyres, a blacked-out engine cowl and fork gaiters that provides an additional toughness to the appearance of the bike.
Yamaha FZ X is powered by a 149cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, two-valve, SOHC FI engine. The engine on this bike is BS6 compliant and can generate a maximum power of 12.4 PS @ 7250 rpm while it can generate a peak torque of 13.3Nm @8500rpm. This is the same engine that can be seen on the Yamaha FZ V3 and only has a self-starter.
The bike is mated with a five-speed gearbox and can achieve a top speed of up to 110kmph. It offers a similar mileage of up to 45km per litre as any other Yamaha 150cc series and has a fuel tank of 10 litres.
For the suspension, Yamaha FZ X features a telescopic fork at the front and a seven-step adjustable monocross at the rear end.
Tyres, brakes and other features
Yamaha FZ X features 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends. The front tyre measures at 100/80-17 and the rear measures at 140/60R17. The tyres are tubeless.
The bike features disc brakes at both ends. The front disc measures 282 mm in diameter with 2 callipers while the rear disc measures 220 mm in diameter. To ensure braking safety, the bike has been provided with single-channel ABS at the front.
There are also plenty of useful features on the bike. Some of the notable features include:
